About the Contact Manager

If you’re using Google Contacts preview, learn more about what’s changed.
Similar to an online address book, the Contact Manager gives you easy access to the people you want to reach. All your email contacts are stored here. Click Gmail in the top left corner of your page, then select Contacts to access and edit your contacts' information.

The Contact Manager interface

The Contact Manager presents additional features in a revised interface. The Contact Manager does not affect the way contacts are stored or shared. As with the original Contact Manager, only an account administrator can manage the contacts directory, and all users cannot share their personal contacts with other users. Users can find information on navigating the Contacts Manager in the Gmail Help Center section on Managing Contacts.

Users can access the Contact Manager by clicking the Contacts link in the left navigation bar from any screen in Gmail or by clicking the Contacts link at the top of the page in any other App, such as Docs or Calendar. The Contact Manager is not available for domains that do not use Gmail.

Restore contacts: Revert to an earlier saved version of personal contacts
Save any directory contact as a personal contact by clicking Add to "My Contacts"

A default template for business contacts that includes title and organization fields
A bigger, more prominent notes field
Browsable Google Apps Directory: Full browsable list of all contacts in your domain (Contacts sharing must be enabled by the administrator)
Interface changes

The Contact Manager is integrated with Gmail, making it easier for users to manage their personal contacts while sending email. This interface also requires users to make fewer clicks per action than the original Contact Manager.

Google Keep

Google Keep is a note taking application developed by Google. Announced on March 20, 2013, Google Keep is available as a mobile app for the Androi doperating system and as a web application.^[2][3] As of March 2015, it has been downloaded over 10 million times.^[4]

Features

Google Keep has several features including color coding notes, inserting images, creating lists,geo-fencing, shareable notes, and search by color.^[5][6] Users can set time or location-based reminders for notes. Reminders set through Keep are also accessible by other Google applications such as Google Now. Text from images can be extracted using Optical Character Recognitiontechnology. This, however, works only with the English language. Voice recordings created through Keep are automatically transcribed. Google Keep allows users to convert text notes into checklists.

Google Keep allows users to categorize notes using folders or labels, and notes are searchable based on their color, whether they have a reminder, audio, images, or are a list. On the Android app, swiping a note to the left or right in the notes list archives the note. Archived notes appear in the Archive section. Keep also allows users to create a copy (duplicate) of a note. Users can also choose between the List View or Grid View modes on the web. On Android, users can choose between the single-column view and the multi-column view.

Android version

The Google Keep mobile app can be installed on devices that have been approved by Google with Android version 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or higher. Notes can be created through the mobile app or through the Keep website and are synchronized across both platforms via the user's Google Account. This allows users to access saved notes anywhere with internet as well as update notes offline. Google Keep is compatible with Android Wear. Once an Android wearable is paired with another Android device, the top 10 items in Keep show up automatically. Users can create new notes using voice input, add and tick off items on lists, view reminders and snooze notifications.
